You may be one of the many pensioners who are entitled to Pension Credit. Contact us to find out if you are entitled to claim.

The age from which you can get Pension Credit is gradually increasing in line with the increase in women's State Pension age from 60 to 65 between April 2010 and 2020.

Pension credit has two parts:

  • Pension Credit Guarantee provides a guaranteed level of income. It is worked out by comparing your income with the amount the Government thinks you need to live on.
  • Pension Credit Savings can be claimed if you are over 65. It is worked out by looking at the level of retirement provision you have made. It may be paid as well as Pension Credit Guarantee or on its own.

There is no upper savings limit for Pension Credit, but if you have over £10,000 this may reduce the amount of benefit you get.The rates are reviewed annually by the Government and changes are usually implemented in April.
