Keep Going Facilitator

In the role of Keep Going Facilitator you will:

  • In collaboration with your colleagues, develop a face to face Keep Going Group and a virtual Keep Going Group, producing all workshop materials.
  • Take referrals for groups, make initial appointments with participants to carry out assessment, and ensure that any carers are linked into the wider Carer Support Service
  • Plan workshop sessions that incorporate the interests and ideas of participants, carrying out thorough risk assessments and evaluations of each session, and ensuring that all resources and equipment is purchased and ready in advance.
  • Recruit and support volunteers to be part of your weekly sessions.
  • As a team, facilitate of Keep Going sessions on a weekly basis, ensuring participants are engaged during the workshop, encouraging interaction and peer support but providing one to one support if individuals are struggling.
  • Engage with Carers before and after sessions, ensuring that they have adequate support and information about other groups and opportunities within Age UK Wirral
  • To quickly identify and support carers through crisis.
  • Support with assessing and evaluating the impact of the workshops on both carers and participants.
  • Attend regular meeting with Carer Support Services and work as a team to ensure full coverage of all activities during holiday and sickness.
  • Attend regular training, both in person and virtual
  • Keep accurate records of telephone calls, visit and referrals, to compile a monthly statistics report and ensure reports are submitted in timely manner.
  • Maintain strong links with community and voluntary groups and statutory organisations so that up-to-date signposting information can be provided to carers who want to engage with the wider community.
  • Manage infection prevention control issues through adhering to PPE requirements
  • To identify and celebrate the impact of our work and present this evidence as case studies and examples of good practice.

10 hours per week
