Art befriending volunteer

Volunteer role description

We are currently recruiting for two rewarding volunteer roles supporting older people through creative activities. Full training will be provided for your chosen role, along with all materials. Travel expenses will be covered. A DBS check is required, which will be arranged and funded by Age UK Bolton.

As an Art Befriender, you will spend one-to-one time with an older person in their home, sharing a relaxed creative activity together. This might include floristry, ceramics, textiles, or painting and drawing. You don't have to be an expert in arts and crafts, just willing to build a connection with an older person.

We're looking for someone who is...

• Friendly, approachable, and patient
• Good listeners who enjoy chatting with others
• Reliable and able to commit to agreed sessions
• Encouraging and supportive of others’ creativity
• Open to learning and trying new things

Time requirements

2 hours per week for a minimum of 2 weeks.

Please note sessions take place Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm.
