Covid-19 January 2021 Update

During this second lockdown and further restrictions going forward there may be alterations to our services.

Our offices are all currently closed to members of the public .

We would like to assure you that we are all still working on behalf of older people in our boroughs and where ever possible services will remain in place.

You may find some of the information below useful but do get in touch to find out the full extent of what we are able to offer you or your loved ones during this time.

Handy Person – currently offering all referred services as usual, with the sole exception of two-person furniture moves, which are temporarily suspended.  We’re also still welcoming enquiries from Bromley Borough residents for our chargeable (non-referred) services.

Long Term Health Conditions - Support can be accessed via telephone, email, text, online health & wellbeing / support workshops via zoom and / or health & wellbeing workshops via YouTube.

Bromley & Greenwich Take Home and Settle Service -  continue to operate a full service supporting patients home from hospital and settling them back into their home.

Sitting- continues as normal, we provide a low-level 24 hour service aimed at providing short interventions focusing on companionship and reassurance after hospital admissions. We also have resumed our carer respite service, costing £17.50 p/h, although we have quite a limited availability at present. 

Hospital Aftercare Service - Continues to provide a short term shopping service and telephone befriending for Bromley residents discharged from hospital.

Shopping Services - Shopping is open and we are now accepting new clients for the charged for service

Befriending - our volunteers will still talk to you by phone and by email.  If you normally have a face to face visit we will be talking to you about switching to regular phone calls or emails for a while

Bromley and Greenwich Information and Advice Services - our Information and Advice team will continue to give support via the phones and by email, all clinics and walk in visits are suspended

Clip It - Clipit has currently been suspended due to the national lockdown.  Please feel free to contact us on 0208 315 1867/0208 315 1853 to discuss further

Singing for Fun - Ongoing via zoom – please contact vlawrence@ageukbandg.org.uk for updates / to  join

Dementia Hubs, Workshops and Memory Lane Café- Ongoing via zoom – please contact vlawrence@ageukbandg.org.uk for updates/ to  join

Men and Women in Sheds - all sheds - Eltham, Penge and Woolwich, are suspended

Befriending Hubs - all hubs are suspended- There is a virtual coffee morning on Monday mornings at 10am via Zoom

IT and Art Classes - all classes suspended- virtual classes are being held contact rward@Ageukbandg.org.uk

Eltham Gardening Group - suspended until further notice

Exercise classes - all classes and walks are suspended

Gurkha Community Events - all events (snooker, computer classes and Thursday social group at the YMCA) are suspended

Carer Events and workshops - support will continue via phone and email and Zoom

Care Navigators - will be providing support by phone and email but will not be making home visits

In Hospital Advice will continue at the Princess Royal University Hospital
