Published on 16 January 2019 11:15 AM

Whats on for older people

There are many activity and social groups to get involved in this year and with is a vast range to choose from, there’s one for you. Some examples include rock and roll clubs for people with a passion for 50s music, to theatre groups as well as community clubs who meet weekly to play games and catch up.

Benefits of being social

People with active social lives tend to be happier and healthier and socialising is a proven way to increase health and prolong fitness in later life. Socially active people handle stress better which leads to an increases in cardiovascular health so there are many knock-on effects. So please find  an activity that’s for you and get involved.
