Mayor of Camden celebrates strong civic society with local charity

On 8 June, as part of Volunteers' Week, Age UK Camden held a special event at Tavis House with the Mayor of Camden, Councillor Richard Cotton, to recognise the contribution of its volunteers.

As well as acknowledging the long service of volunteers, the charity also gave special awards to individuals who've made an outstanding contribution. These awards - in memory of Margaret Hepburn – were presented by the Mayor of Camden and Margaret's daughter Katy. The Mayor of Camden said it was a "wonderful evening celebrating Camden's strong civic society".

Sarah Jane an outstanding award winner said: "It's so lovely to win this award. Age UK Camden does so much to reach isolated older people in the borough and I think volunteers help play an important role in this."
