A new project, funded by the National Lottery's Community Fund, and the Garfield Weston Foundation is due to start in April 2020. The project will provide much needed aftercare for older people who have fallen victim to scams or doorstep crime, as well as raising awareness about the problem in our local communities.
As part of the project, we will be speaking to community groups across the northern part of Cheshire East, including the towns of Macclesfield, Wilmslow, Knutsford, Poynton, Congleton, Handforth and Alderley Edge, about the project and how we want the local community to provide us with information about scams operating in their local area, and making sure that older people in your community are aware of how to not fall victims to scams and doorstep crime.
Together we want to make sure that our older people do not fall prey to these awful crimes and want to send a message to those planning on committing such crimes in our local area that we will not allow this to happen.
More details about the project will appear here in due course, including more details about volunteering roles, and an advertisement for the Project lead role (to commence work in April 2020)
In the meantime, if you would like to express an interest in volunteering with the project, please get in touch now on 01625 612958 or at email@example.com
