Information & Advice Manager

Job Purpose

  • To deliver and oversee the delivery of high-quality advice within the Information & Advice service,
  • To seek opportunities for service development and improved community outreach with colleagues, local and national partners,
  • To work to organisational and grant targets
  • To provide accurate advice to older people on claiming welfare benefits and other issues.

Main Duties

  • Representing Age UK Doncaster at advice networks at a local, regional and national level,
  • Quality assuring all aspects of service delivery to ensure excellent outcomes for clients,
  • Meeting quality and numeric targets, providing input into funding work and other reports as required,
  • Ensuring clear statistical and monitoring information and case studies are up to date and accessible,
  • Attending Information & Advice network meetings and training events,
  • Ensuring all training for the Welfare Benefits Advisors is up to date.

In addition, some of your time will be spent working directly with clients and other colleagues:

  • Providing knowledgeable and accurate information to clients in person at Age UK Doncaster venues, virtually, by phone, email or home visit according to clients needs
  • Keeping up to date on relevant changes in the law, policies and procedures, both locally and nationally, and as they apply to and affect older people and their carers
  • Providing and maintaining statistical information and case records as requested by the Team Leader or Senior Leadership Team, maintaining client records accurately and in an orderly manner while maintaining confidentiality at all times
  • Liaising with other internal departments, external organisations and service providers and maintaining professional working relationships
  • To provide occasional cover for other team members including our Helpline
  • To make effective referrals and/or signposting to other agencies as appropriate
  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties which may be required within the job role.

Salary: £26,000 to £28,000 Full Time Equivalent dependent on experience

Hours: 21-28 hours per week to be agreed
