TMCC Officially Opens

Published on 12 December 2025 10:30 AM

On Tuesday, 9th December we were delighted to welcome Marion Kelly, niece of Mabel Churn and one of the directors of The Mabs Mardulyn Charitable Foundation to formally open our new home - The Mabel Churn Centre.

The event was opened by Chair, Elaine Adkin who spoke the importance of the work provided by AUKE and the significant support it gave the 16,000 plus clients of Enfield's older community every year.

This was followed by Alison Naomi Porter who talked about how the charity had helped her mother following a stroke.

CEO, Helen Oliver then focused on the future and vision for AUKE and the Centre itself before Enfield Council's Matt Casey added how the dementia day care service provided a "beacon of hope for people and families living with dementia.

A fuller visual report of the day will follow shortly but in the meantime we were
delighted to welcome James Cracknell, editor of the Enfield Dispatch who crafted this article below
