A new way of working for adult social care in Islington - take part in the discussion

Published on 16 July 2020 11:12 AM

Islington Council warmly invite you to join Islington residents for an online discussion to explore a new way of working for Islington Adult Social Care and beyond through the Fairer Together Partnership.

The following information is from Islington Council:

The Fairer Together Partnership is bringing together organisations and local people across all of Islington – communities, the voluntary sector, health and social care services, schools, police, local businesses, and the Council – to tackle inequality and put fairness at the heart of everything we do.

The Covid-19 crisis has further highlighted the inequalities and challenges that local people living and working in Islington face.  It is more important now than ever, that we continue to work together to tackle interconnected inequalities with interconnected support.

Islington can be proud as to how we’ve come together as a community during the pandemic, and we want to build on this and do more together.  Through Fairer Together we want to learn from our good practice so that it spreads out to more communities in Islington, building on these strong foundations together to empower everyone in Islington to start well, live well, and age well.

As part of this, Islington Adult Social Care is reviewing the way we work with our community and residents that use our services.  We want to make sure that we are able to maximise independence and wellbeing for those who use services through Strengths Based Practice.

We would like to work with our staff, providers, service users and carers to collectively capture a clear set of principles that put this approach at the heart of our Adult Social Care offer.

We have reviewed existing feedback we have had from residents, service users and carers, and have also completed a survey with staff to help us make a start but we now need your help to take this further.

We are inviting you to take part in an online meeting on Tuesday the 27th July to explore the themes highlighted in all of the feedback so far, identify any key areas missing from this information or any areas we need to look into further, and think about how we can work together to ensure the wider views of service users, carers and residents can shape services.

This will take place online over zoom.

When: Monday 27th July 2.00pm – 3.30pm
