HR Manager - Maternity Cover
Are you an experienced HR professional ready to step into a key leadership role at a local charity supporting older people? Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland are seeking a confident and capable Interim HR Manager to lead our HR, Volunteering, L&D Team during maternity cover.
In this pivotal role, you will provide operational HR support, oversee the HR, Learning & Development and Volunteering functions, and act as a trusted advisor to managers across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Line manage the Recruitment Manager, HR Advisor, HR/Training Administrator, and Volunteer Co-ordinator, ensuring regular one-to-ones, support staff development, and nurturing a positive, high-performing team culture.
- Manager Support: Provide expert advice and coaching on all aspects of HR, including recruitment, performance, employee relations, absence, and restructuring.
- Policy and Compliance: Ensure HR policies and procedures are kept up to date, compliant with employment law, and effectively communicated across the organisation.
- Reporting: Produce regular HR reports for the Board of Trustees on key metrics such as staff turnover, recruitment activity, and absence.
- Project Delivery: Support with TUPE, tenders, employee satisfaction surveys and wider organisational HR initiatives.
About You:
- Demonstrable HR leadership experience, ideally in the voluntary or care sector
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Confident in advising senior leaders
- A collaborative, proactive, and people-centred approach
- CIPD Level 5 or above
- Leadership skills
- Ability to drive with and to gain business insurance
