About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate and proactive Information and Advice worker to join our team as part of the Moving Forward with Confidence Project. This rewarding role is focused on providing personalised and holistic support to older people living locally, helping them to make informed decisions and improve their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored advice and information to older individuals on a wide range of issues, including:
- Benefits
- Adult social care services
- Housing options
- Charitable grants
- Local support services and community resources
- Support clients in accessing the services and financial help they are entitled to
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, policy, and local service provision
- Build strong relationships with partner organisations and referral agencies
- Record and monitor client interactions and outcomes in line with project requirements
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
- Experience in delivering advice or support services to older people or vulnerable groups
- Strong knowledge of welfare benefits, social care, housing, and community resources, Care Act 2014 Adult social care, and local services
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A client-focused and empathetic approach
- Good IT and record-keeping skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to listen and problem solve
- Manage time effectively, being flexible around people's needs
- Have empathy with a non-judgmental approach
- Ability to work under some challenging situations
- Use of a car for work purposes, with valid business insurance, is required.

Hours: 30 hours per week
Salary: £22,056.48 per annum
Contract: Fixed term – April 2026
