Service Manager – Day Clubs
At Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland, we’re more than just a charity – we’re a lifeline for older people in our local community. Our mission is to support older people in their daily lives and empower them to live independently for as long as possible. We are committed to providing high-quality, person-centred services that make a real difference. We are now looking for a dedicated and motivated Service Manager to lead and further develop our valued Day Clubs.
About the Role
Our Day Clubs provide a safe, welcoming space for older people to connect, take part in activities, and maintain their wellbeing and independence. As Service Manager, you’ll oversee the operational and strategic delivery of these services, ensuring they are safe, high quality, and responsive to the needs of members. This is a varied role, combining leadership, service development, compliance, safeguarding, and quality assurance. You’ll be proactive, organised, and motivated to make a positive difference in the lives of older people.
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
- Proven experience managing or supervising staff.
- Experience developing community-based services.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A solid understanding of safeguarding and quality standards in health & social care.
- A flexible, calm, and person-centred approach.
A Health and Social Care qualification and experience in the voluntary sector are desirable, but not essential.

Hours: 30 per week
Location: Office based with travel across Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland
Salary: Competitive
