Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland’s Last Orders project supports older people dealing with alcohol & substance misuse and promotes the importance of safe drinking.

With the pandemic intensifying loneliness, isolation, and anxiety, sales of alcohol in Leicestershire have increased by nearly 25% in January alone compared to last year, and we’ve seen an increased demand for our services.

With a 16% increase in the first nine months of 2020 in deaths related to alcohol-specific causes, Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland has been at the forefront of supporting local older people to help them through these difficult times…

Here, Angela tells us about her struggles with alcohol and how our Last Orders Project coordinators Hollie and Jackie have supported her throughout the pandemic.

We need your donations to ensure our vital projects can continue. Please donate today and help us continue our life-saving services.
