Gift of Friendship is a proactive, goal-oriented service designed to build meaningful relationships and support personal wellbeing. There are three strands to this service:
• Face-to-Face Befriending. Friendly one-hour weekly visits at home for 6 months, offering companionship & support to help individuals reach personal goals. (Currently closed to new referrals in North Norfolk and West Norfolk due to lack of capacity. We will update this page if the situation changes).
• Gift of Friendship Telephone Befriending. Weekly goal driven conversations tailored to each person’s needs—fostering connection, encouragement, and growth. (Remains open across the county).
• Age UK National Telephone Befriending. Weekly calls from our National partner, providing friendly and engaging conversation.
The Gift of Friendship service is not offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Places will be allocated as new volunteers become available. Eligibility criteria will apply, and our Companionship Team will be happy to guide you through the process. We’d really encourage you to get in touch so we can explore the support we’re able to offer and gain a clearer understanding of how we might be able to help.
