Charities across the UK will be holding events to thank their volunteers and celebrate the power of volunteering.

Last year there were over 600 events across the country, from award ceremonies to tea parties and barbecues.
For many charities the week will be a chance to showcase the range of volunteering opportunities on offer. Volunteer fairs and other events will be encouraged people to try volunteering for the first time and help people find out how, through volunteering, they can make a difference to a cause they are passionate about.

Age UK North Tyneside have a thriving group of 160 enthusiastic volunteers who together contributed over 20,000 hours of their time in 2017/18 to help older people in their community. the value of this to the organisation amounted to over £150,000.

Volunteers at Age UK North Tyneside and EveryDay Care will be celebrating along with staff and supporters on Saturday 6th July,
10:30am - 1:30pm at Marden Quarry Scouts Hut with workshops, activities and a BBQ to mark the occasion. Why don't you join the team and join in?
