Volunteers' week 2022 is from 1st to 7th June. Charities across the UK will be holding events to thank their volunteers and celebrate the power of volunteering.

In 2019 there were over 600 events across the country, from award ceremonies to tea parties and barbecues.
For many charities the week will be a chance to showcase the range of volunteering opportunities on offer. Volunteer fairs and other events will be helping people find out how, through volunteering, they can make a difference to a cause they are passionate about, and maybe encourage them to try volunteering for the first time.

Age UK North Tyneside have a thriving group of 160 enthusiastic volunteers who together contributed to helping over 2,700 older people in their community. Over the last year they excelled themselves by helping, supporting many of the charity’s essential services and especially outreaching to those who are isolated and lonely.

Some of our wonderful volunteers' stories

Some of our volunteers have told us their inspiring stories about volunteering with Age UK North Tyneside. Why they became volunteers, what they have gained from it and how they are supported by Age UK North Tyneside.
