Update - 18th March

Published on 18 March 2020 11:29 AM

Thank you to all the people who have contacted us to offer support to older people during this very new and very strange Coronavirus world. We are currently finalising our plans for community support and will be in touch as soon as we can when we need your help.

We have successfully mobilised plans to enable our staff to work from home wherever possible so that people can still call in for information and advice and to access some of the support they may need. We have been speaking with staff and clients, keeping them up to date with the changes that have taken place in their service.

To comply with social distancing recommendations, we have taken the decision to close the following sites:

  • Bradbury House will close to the public from 23rd March until further notice
  • Sybil Levin Centre (our specialist dementia support service) will close to the public from today (18th March) until further notice
  • Men in Sheds in Worksop, Daybrook and Blidworth will remain closed until further notice

Our shops in West Bridgford and Mansfield will remain open, as will the Lifestyle Centre in The Meadows for support and information on living aids, adaptations and mobility services.

We will keep the open sites under review and we may need to close them at short notice. We will continue to post notices to keep everyone informed and we thank you for your patience at this obviously difficult time. The most important thing for us is that older people continue to receive the services they need to the best of our ability.

You’ve donated and we are grateful!

We’ve received numerous donations from many people throughout the past few months and every single penny has made a real difference. Thank you to everyone who sent in a cheque or donated online. Your donations have made it possible for us to help people when they felt most vulnerable and afraid. We’ve shopped, collected medication and made wellbeing telephone calls to isolated people. Your donations have helped make that possible. We’re working hard to continue to provide services that matter to older people and donations always help us to deliver. If you’re looking for a worthy cause to support, well…look no further!
