Story 7 – Keeping Connected

The pace of change in online activity grew rapidly in recent years and, for many, it’s a way of opening up the world, keeping in touch with friends and family, pursuing interests and hobbies and accessing all sorts of services.  Many people do not yet have the skills or equipment to enjoy this new world.  We can help.  Our Digital Inclusion programme can help people gain the skills they need and even lend them a tablet through our digital loan scheme.  Our Digital Champion volunteers help people learn the skills they need to participate safely in the online world.  We offer one-to-one tuition and group sessions.

You might even be interested in becoming a Digital Champion.

Staying safe online is really important and we can help with that, too.  We can offer one-to-one support for older people so they know how to avoid scams and fraud attempts – online and offline.  For more details, contact john.bryan@ageuknotts.org.uk or call 0115 859 9209 to set up an appointment.  We can make sure people get the help they need either face to face or by telephone and our staff always carry ID.
