Day Six - 12 Stories of Christmas - ‘A Home from Home’
Our specialist SPECAL-informed Dementia Day Care Centre is truly a wonderful place to be. Welcomed with breakfast to start the day, the relaxed homely feel is there to put our daily friends at ease. Choosing a trip down memory lane, knitting, flower arranging, games – all sorts of activities for people to enjoy individually or with others with a home-cooked 2 course lunch, too. It’s all about a stress free and relaxed atmosphere and the introduction of a new quiet room means there really is something for everyone.

SPECAL is an innovative approach using person-centred care in a compassionate, relaxed and stimulating environment. Research identifies that the SPECAL method increases confidence, promotes independence, and reduces the need for medication for people living with dementia.
