Gender pay gap statement

We strive to create an inclusive working environment where everyone has the freedom to be themselves. We recognise that all our colleagues are unique – whatever their ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or other ideologies, and that by valuing each other and working in collaboration we build a team of forward thinking individuals that help make our business a success. We have a mean gender pay gap of 9% and a median gender pay gap of 2%. We know our gender pay gap is not a pay issue but is a consequence of there being a significantly higher proportion of women than men in our organisation.

Not only is it a great place to work, but there are many other benefits to being an employee of Age UK Notts:

Flexible working

Our flexible working options give you more time to do the things you really want to do. We have a range of flexible working options and contracts for both full and part time staff including job share, working form home, and term time working.

All applicable staff (there are some exemptions) are entered on to our flexible working hours scheme that enables staff to start anytime between 8am and 10am and finish any time between 4pm and 6pm. You can also build up hours to use when you choose (rules apply!).

Holidays

All staff start with 24 days annual leave per year (pro rata for flexible working options), rising one day per year with each year of service to a maximum of 32 days. Staff also receive eight public holidays per year.

Pension

The Charity will contribute 4% of basic salary into our NEST pension scheme after 3 months service with a phased employee minimum contribution rising to a maximum of 4% from 1st April 2019 (in line with auto-enrolment rules). However employees may contribute more than the minimum required employee contribution.

Training and development

Age UK Nottingham & Nottinghamshire recognise the skills and behaviour of its people as a key resource in the present and continuing success of the organisation. The development of people today will, therefore, help to determine Age UK Nottingham & Nottinghamshire's impact in the future.

Age UK Nottingham & Nottinghamshire has it’s own online training platform, offering a range of different courses. All new staff will complete a training needs analysis at induction and the personal and professional development of staff will continue to be supported throughout your career.
