Our face‑to‑face and telephone befriending service provides regular, friendly contact from a volunteer befriender, offering companionship and conversation on a weekly basis, usually in your home.
Please note
At the moment, we are unable to accept new referrals for the befriending project. All existing befriending calls and visits will continue as normal, and current clients will remain fully supported.

Silver Line
The Silver Line Helpline run by Age UK is a free, 24-hour telephone service for older people across the UK. Call 0800 4 70 80 90.
The helpline offers friendship, conversation, and support for people aged 55 or over, especially those who may be experiencing feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Re-Engage
Call Companions is a telephone befriending service ensuring older people stay connected to the outside world. Call Companions is available to anyone aged 75 and over who’s socially isolated and would like a regular chat over the phone with a friendly volunteer. Contact Re-Engage free on 0800 716543.
