Job Title: Strength Based Community Facilitator
Hours: PART TIME 16 hours per week, DAYS AND TIMES TBC
Salary Range: £25,878.00 AMOUNT FTE BASED ON 37 HOURS PER WEEK, PRO RATA FOR 30 HOURS PER WEEK £11,191.00

Reporting Arrangements
Working as a part of the AUKS Lifescape Team and Reporting to the Community Operations Senior Lead

Contract
Fixed term contract until October 2029 subject to 6 months Probationary period

Location
Based at Age UK Stockport with travel required to community venues across Stockport. Flexible or hybrid working may be available where the role permits. The Role

Core Purpose
To engage residents within some of Stockport’s most deprived communities and support them to identify, build upon, and use their existing strengths, skills, knowledge, and lived experience. The role will empower individuals and communities to take ownership of local solutions, contribute to the LifeScape programme, and help reshape perceptions of ageing by promoting confidence, connection, resilience, and active participation in later life.

Main Role
The Strength Based Community Facilitator will work directly with residents, Community Champions, volunteers, and local organisations to facilitate community-led activities, support peer networks, and encourage active participation in community life. The post holder will use strengths-based and Asset-Based Community Development approaches to help communities identify local assets, develop sustainable activity, and contribute learning and insight to the wider LifeScape Toolkit.
