Loved and Wanted Organiser
10 hours per week
Salary: £17.82 per hour, £9,271.50 pro rata (equivalent to £27,500 per annum if full-time)
Contract: Fixed-term contract until 31st March 2028
Could you be the person to help deliver the Waltham Forest Loved and Wanted Alliance?
Age UK Waltham Forest is leading the Waltham Forest Loved and Wanted Alliance, which includes a mosque, church, synagogue, foodbank, Chinese and Albanian groups. The Alliance will support people to make meaningful relationships across divides of race, faith, age and wealth. We are now recruiting a Loved and Wanted Organiser who will make our programme of Loved and Wanted activities happen.
This post will organise the Alliance’s programme of events, supporting all Alliance member organisations to contribute. The post-holder will also support the Alliance Steering Group in developing and overseeing the programme, and undertake all monitoring and evaluation.
You will need to combine outstanding organisational and communication skills with an in-depth understanding of the needs of different faiths, ethnic groups and communities, and the barriers which exist to keep those groups apart. Speaking one of the following languages is not essential, but it would be desirable: Urdu, Punjabi, Cantonese, Mandarin, Albanian, Filipino.
This project forms part of the Mayor of London’s Loved and Wanted campaign, launched in 2025, celebrating the strength and diversity of London’s communities, reinforcing the message that all Londoners are loved, valued, and welcome regardless of background. The Mayor of London and The National Lottery Community Fund have committed £1.8m over three years to build a London-wide network of venue-based community spaces across the capital.

Help At Home Worker
Salary: £13.85 per hour
Working Pattern: Zero hours contract. Working hours are flexible and will be agreed upon with the successful candidate
This role is to provide a basic housework service including: mopping and vacuuming, cleaning kitchens and bathrooms, helping with laundry and ironing and changing beds. You may also be requested to help with basic meal preparation or making telephone calls.
Handyperson
Salary: £16 per hour
Working Pattern: Zero hours contract. Working hours are flexible and will be agreed upon with the successful candidate
This role is to provide a reliable, friendly handyperson service with an emphasis on home maintenance and gardening. You will undertake minor tasks including: mowing lawn and garden tidying; plumbing repairs, unblocking sinks, putting up shelves, changing light fittings, small areas of painting or grouting, fitting window locks and bolts and assembling small items of furniture.
