  • Welfare Benefits Advisor

    HOURS: 16.5 per week
    DAYS OF WORK: Wednesday, Thursday & Fridays (5.5 hours per day)
    RESPONSIBLE TO: Senior Information & Advice worker, Head of Information & Operations, ultimately to the Chief Executive and Trustees of Age UK Bournemouth, Poole & East Dorset

  • Help at Home Assistant

    We are looking for Help at Home Assistants to work in the homes of older people living in the Bournemouth area.

    Duties include domestic support/cleaning, shopping, small de-cluttering jobs, washing or ironing & companionship. There is no personal care involved.

    Available on a zero-hour contract. Monday - Friday only. No evenings or weekends. Travel time, at the hourly rate of pay, and fuel expenses are paid.

    Must have a driving licence and own transport with business use insurance.

    Salary: £8.91 per hour

  • Befriending Coordinator

    HOURS: 16 hours per week
    RESPONSIBLE TO: Community Connections Manager, Community Connections Team Leader, Chief Executive and ultimately Trustees of Age UK Bournemouth, Poole & East Dorset
    JOB PURPOSE: To coordinate our Befriending Scheme in conjunction with our Community Connections Team. You will be responsible for the allocation of clients to our volunteer befrienders as well as providing the volunteers with appropriate support, advice, and guidance. The support to clients will be low level and befriending will either be over the telephone or a home visit.

    Main Tasks     

    • To provide a high-quality Foot Care Service in a clinic setting
    • To undertake assessment of all new clients
    • Ensure relevant documentation is completed and kept up to date
    • Undertaking banking of monies received from clients
    • To recognize when treatment needs to be escalated to a chiropodist or health clinician
    • Prepare the clinical area for use, ensuring that infection control processes are adhered to
    • Ensuring all tools and equipment are sterilised using the autoclave provided
    • Provide general advice on good foot hygiene
    • Comply with all Age UK Bournemouth, Poole, and East Dorset policies and in particular Health & Safety, Infection Control and Safeguarding
    • To ensure high quality of Services
    • To attend meetings as necessary
    • To undertake any other duties as instructed by your line manager
