Wear our colours for Grandparents Day October 1st and help us raise funds for our work with older people in the Bradford District.

On Grandparents Day (1st October), join Age UK Bradford District in lighting up our communities by wearing our logo colours! Whether you’re in a school, workplace, community group, or local organisation - your gesture will raise funds, awareness, and smiles for older people across the Bradford District.

Why Wear Our Colours?

  1. Show Your Support, Loud and Proud
Wearing our colours is a visible, heartwarming way to stand with older people - showing them they belong and are valued.
  2. Boost Local Wellbeing
All proceeds from this campaign help fund essential local services - like Information Plus, friendly hub drop-ins, shopping and befriending support, and a range of social activities designed around what older people tell us they need.
  3. Build Community Spirit
This campaign creates connection - parents, staff, pupils, volunteers, and friends - united for a great cause. Perfect for local teams, PTA groups, and workplace staffrooms.

How to Take Part

  1. Pick your colours - Green, Blue, Orange, Pink, or a combination!
  2. Wear them proudly on 1st October.
  3. Snap your group photo and share it using #WearOurColoursBD on social media.
  4. Send us your photo - we might feature it on our site or across our social channels!

What You’ll Be Supporting

Funds raised will help us deliver and expand local services such as:

  • Information Plus Drop-Ins for advice and signposting at multiple community hubs
  • Activities & Social Groups, including walking groups, craft sessions, buddy groups, veterans’ meet-ups, the Shipley Book Club, and more
  • Help at Home and Trusted Trader support, including shopping assistance, home maintenance, and cleaning services
  • Hub-based services across six local community hubs in Allerton, Idle, Keighley, Queensbury, Shipley, and Wrose - all offering tailored local support

Are you ready to make a difference?

Send your group photo to info@ageukbd.org.uk and tag us online with #WearOurColoursBD. Let’s make 1st October a day to celebrate, connect, and support older people across Bradford.
