Age UK Bristol’s services to get funding boost from property firm JLL

Age UK Bristol is receiving support from property firm JLL to help the Charity provide its vital services to support older people in the local area. The funding comes from JLL’s three-year partnership with Age UK, the national charity, which launched earlier this year.

The money being donated by JLL will help Age UK Bristol to fund its local services, including the Friends Ageing Better community. Friends Ageing Better is a free community for people aged 50 and over to socialise and connect with other people.

Age UK Bristol’s services provide a lifeline to the older community, helping people to reduce loneliness and social isolation. FAB member Jenny says, “FAB helped restore aspects of my mental health and gave me the motivation to seek out other social opportunities.”

Kay Libby, Chief Executive at Age UK Bristol said: “We’re delighted to be receiving this donation from JLL to support older people in Bristol. It’s thanks to funding like JLL’s that we’re able to continue helping older people in our area who are most in need.

“Our services help thousands of older people in Bristol and we really couldn’t continue to do what we do without help like this.”

Tim Harris, Head of South West & Wales and Head of Growth & Clients - PDS UK at JLL said: “We're delighted to be partnering with Age UK – giving back to the older generation is something that is hugely important to us all as we progress through life. It's genuinely lovely to see how our funding will be used change people's lives, and the Bristol team are excited to get stuck into volunteering and make an even more of a direct impact in our community over the course of our three-year partnership."
