The Age UK Bromsgrove, Redditch & Wyre Forest Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that it has appointed Sam Humphray as Interim Chief Executive Officer of Age UK BRWF, for a six month period, with effect from the 4th March 2018.

The appointment follows recent confirmation that after nine years, serving as CEO for Age UK in Bromsgrove, and, more recently, managing the successful merger with Redditch and Wyre Forest areas, Alison Schofield, will be leaving Age UK Bromsgrove, Redditch & Wyre Forest (Age UK BRWF) to take up a post of CEO for Age UK Birmingham.  The Board of Age UK BRWF would like to say a sincere and heartfelt ‘thank you’ to Alison for all that she has done. She has enabled the organisation to achieve a great deal and has built a strong and dedicated team of staff and volunteers who are fully committed to supporting older people and their families across North Worcestershire.

Sam has been Age UK BRWF’s Finance Manager since joining the charity in March 2017.  Sam’s commercial shrewdness has contributed hugely in enabling Age UK BRWF to endure this difficult economic climate and she has played an important role in shaping the organisation’s current programme of sustainability and transformation.  With the support of the Trustees and her team, Sam will continue to implement and build upon these plans, taking the organisation forward so that Age UK BRWF can continue to be recognised as a key ‘local’ charity supporting ‘local’ people over the age of 50 across North Worcestershire.

Responding to her appointment Sam said:

“I am very pleased to be accepting the position of Interim Chief Executive Officer of Age UK Bromsgrove, Redditch & Wyre Forest.  These are challenging times for the charity, and the sector as a whole, but I know that the Age UK BRWF Board and this team are totally committed, and have the dedication and experience, to move the organisation forward so that we can continue providing essential services to the communities of Bromsgrove, Redditch and Wyre Forest.”

The Board are also pleased to confirm that Amanda Allen has been appointed as an Interim Head of Services to support Sam during this period.
