Sarah's Fundraiser

A big thank you to Sarah our Head of Services, who ran the TCS London Marathon on Sunday. An incredible achievement.

Thanks to everyone who supported my London Marathon fundraiser for Age UK CAP. I have tried to thank everyone directly although the anonymous ones are a bit trickier! We have raised together a whopping £1,066! I am so grateful to everyone who supported me - I needed every bit of motivation on the day.

So how did it go? It happened to be the hottest day of the year so far…I had a dreaded lurgy kindly donated by my partner…did not get a wink of sleep the night before and my back decided to cause me considerable pain at mile 14!! That said, I ran 26.2 miles in 5 hours and 13 minutes - it was undoubtedly the toughest challenge of my life. In fact, I would prefer to go through child labour for my 3 children back-to-back than go through it again! But what a crowd! The atmosphere was second to none- music, cheering. The sights were awesome, and I cannot tell you the sense of achievement and absolute joy when running past Buckingham Palace and hitting the Royal Mall with the end in sight. I cried buckets!
