Making time for yourself

Getting a free carer's assessment from your local council is a great starting point. They'll work out what support you need and what help you may be eligble for - such as extra support or respite care to give you a break.
Whether or not you're eligible for help, there are other steps you can take to help look after yourself. Try and make time for things you enjoy - whether this means going to a regular class or just finding 10 minutes to sit down with a cuppa and a crossword.
It's also worth letting your doctor know that you're a carer - they can help you manage your own health needs with that in mind.
