Every single legacy is vital to Age UK Hertfordshire and we appreciate any legacy you may choose to leave us. Whatever the value of your legacy, it will go a long way in helping someone who needs support.

How to leave a legacy in your will

Writing a will is a legal document that ensures your wishes regarding your estate are respected. It is recommended that you speak with a solicitor to help you write your will, as there are many different requirements to ensure that your will is legally valid, but you are able to update and change your will at any time.

Your solicitor will be able to advise you on the required wording to carry out your wishes. To ensure that your gift supports local older people in Hertfordshire, all you need is the following information:

Address: Age UK Hertfordshire, First Floor, Beane Bridge House, 34 Chambers Street, Hertford, SG14 1PL

Registered Charity Name: Age UK Hertfordshire

Registered Charity Number: 1116662

If you already have a will

If you already have a will and you want to include a gift to Age UK Hertfordshire in it, there may not be need to rewrite it. You can ask a qualified professional such as a solicitor to add an amendment (called a codicil). As a general rule, if the change you wish to make is quite small or simple, you can use a codicil, and if the change is more significant or complex you should make a new will.
