Blossom was a secretary throughout her working life, but after she retired she volunteered in Australia for a church club before she returned to the UK


How long have you volunteered for?

13 years.

Why did you choose Volunteering for Age UK Hertfordshire?

Blossom initially volunteered at a charity shop in Letchworth, but wanted to do something different as well.
She went to the volunteer centre who introduced her to Age UK Hertfordshire and thought the 10-3 club in Letchworth would be right up her street.
Blossom visited the group, met the supervisor & really enjoyed it. She was invited to come back & that was it!

What’s the best thing about being a volunteer?

It’s a very nice group, I love to contribute to supporting others. The volunteer team all get along well together.
It gives me a great sense of satisfaction that I’m able to do something for others and keeps me active too.
