We are recruiting a reliable and organised Casual Reception Administrator & Retail Assistant to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

At Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland, as the first point of contact for our organisation, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and administrative support. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be proficient in office tasks, and have a strong attention to detail. You will also oversee the running of a small charity shop within the area, supporting your colleagues and volunteers.

Customer Service:

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Friendly, approachable, and professional manner
  • Ability to build positive relationships with customers and visitors
  • Confident handling enquiries, complaints, and requests

Communication:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident answering telephone calls and responding to emails
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and external contacts

Reception & Administration;

  • Welcoming visitors and managing reception duties
  • Scheduling appointments and managing diaries (if required)
  • General administrative skills, including filing, data entry, and record keeping
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and other office systems

Retail Skills:

  • Cash handling and operating till systems
  • Processing sales
  • Merchandising and maintaining attractive product displays
  • Stock replenishment and inventory management
  • Promote Gift Aid where appropriate

Organisation

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks in a busy environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

 

Teamwork

  • Works collaboratively as part of a team
  • Willingness to support colleagues across different functions
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
