Are you caring, reliable and looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference? Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland is recruiting Footcare Assistants to deliver a high quality, non-clinical foot and nail care service to older people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

This is a community-based role, working in people’s homes and local settings, supporting wellbeing, dignity and independence.

What will you do?

As a Footcare Assistant, you will provide safe, professional basic foot and nail care and support older people to maintain their comfort and independence. Your duties will include:

  • Providing basic nail clipping and foot care in line with training and procedures
  • Carrying out simple client assessments and recognising when to signpost or refer
  • Offering basic foot care advice within clear non-clinical boundaries
  • Maintaining accurate records using our systems
  • Managing your own caseload and appointments efficiently
  • Promoting dignity, privacy, choice and wellbeing at all times

 No experience? No problem

Previous footcare experience is not essential. We provide comprehensive training and ongoing support. What matters most is your caring attitude, professionalism and willingness to learn.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland
  • Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check
  • Commitment to working within non-clinical boundaries and following procedures

Essential:
A UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

A basic DBS check applies.

Hours and Pay

  • Contract: Permanent
  • Hours: 15 hours per week – Monday, Tuesday or Friday
  • Salary: £12.87 per hour increasing to £13.40 per hour from 1 April 2026.
  • Contract: Permanent
