Our Projects

Age UK London co-ordinates a number of London-wide projects which support the work of Age UKs in London and the provision of services directly to London’s older residents.

Our Current Programmes

  • Age Allies

    Age Allies is a brand new 3 year programme being developed by Age UK London that will help tackle age discrimination and issues around access to services in London.
  • City Bridge Trust: The Way Ahead

    Age UK London has been funded by City Bridge Trust to engage with over 500 older people’s organisations in London - improving their capacity to support older Londoners and boost London’s civil society.
  • Older Private Sector Tenants Programme

    Age UK London is beginning work to raise awareness of the needs of older private sector tenants in London to find solutions to problems they face.
  • Go ON UK

    Age UK London is working in partnership with Age UK Croydon and Age UK Lewisham & Southwark as part of the Go ON UK London Digital Rollout.

Past Programmes

  • Fit 4 Purpose

    Fit 4 Purpose, supported by London Councils, supports, informs, up-skills and networks at least 400 voluntary and community organisations working with older people, across all London boroughs.
  • Know Your Rights

    With one in six older Londoners estimated to be living in poverty, the Mayor of London urgies pensioners to check they are receiving all the benefits they are entitled to as part of the annual Know Your Rights campaign in partnership with Age UK London.
  • MiCommunity

    MiCommunity used intergenerational volunteering to build a stronger sense of community and connectedness between young volunteers and older people, bridging differences in age, ethnicity and culture, and challenging negative stereotypes.
  • Fit as a Fiddle

    Age UK London was part of the nationwide Fit as a Fiddle programme, funded by the Big Lottery. The programme supported sustainable lifestyle changes leading to improved health, reduced isolation and greater independence.
  • Over 50s Employment Project

    Age UK London’s ground breaking employment project, funded by the Big Lottery Fund, was set up to support people over 50 to find employment or set up their own business.
  • Energy Efficiency in Later Life

    In 2014 Age UK London and UK Power Networks bring additional energy advice and support to thousands of older people across London.
