Inclusive Norwich
The Inclusive Norwich Partnership

The Inclusive Norwich Partnership brings together local organisations and communities to make Norwich a more accessible and welcoming city for everyone. Led by Representative People’s Organisations, the partnership amplifies the voices of residents, especially disabled people, to influence services, policies, and design across the city.
Key highlights:
-
A collaboration between Inclusive Norwich, Age UK Norwich, Age Friendly Norwich, Equal Lives, Norwich Kind City Maps, and Norwich City Council.
-
Focus on five key areas: access, communication, health, housing, and transport.
-
A Resources Hub offering guidance, standards, and practical tools for planners, service providers, and the community.
-
Open network membership for organisations and individuals to share expertise, feedback, and shape projects.
-
A Steering Group led by Disabled People’s Organisations (DPOs) to ensure lived experience drives decisions.
-
Committed to fulfilling Norwich’s vision of being a fair, liveable, and inclusive city in line with the Equality Act 2010.
An important update (March 2026)
Despite our best efforts, the team have not been able to secure the long-term funding needed to continue. As a result, we are winding down the partnership’s activity, which will conclude on 31 March.
But before we close the door, we want to reflect on what we have achieved – together.
During this time, the INP has brought together residents, charities, community groups and public services with a shared commitment to improving accessibility and inclusive practice across the city. We are proud of what has been achieved through this collaboration.
Over the past two years, you have helped the team to build a network of more than 400 residents, organisations and professionals, support a wide range of local consultations and improvement projects across the built environment and local services, and contributed to strategic conversations about inclusion and accessibility across sectors. We have also developed practical initiatives to support disabled residents, re‑established the Norwich Access Group, strengthening collaboration with disabled communities, and created a new accessible best‑practice resource hub that will remain available online.
We would like to thank everyone who has taken part in and contributed to this work. The insights, relationships and resources developed through the INP will continue to support efforts to make Norwich more inclusive and accessible.
