Age UK Norwich is a local independent charity with 40 staff members. We reach and support around 6,000 older people and their families each year across our range of services and activities.

Our staff team works closely with the local community, and much of our work is delivered across Norwich and its suburbs.

Community Outreach Officer

The role is part of the front-face of the charity, supporting people aged 50+ and their families through social clubs, community trips and community engagement. 

The Community Outreach Officer provides support to our clients within the communities they live in to prepare for and enjoy later life by keeping active and participating in community events, clubs and trips they enjoy, while providing support to overcome barriers that may prevent them from accessing services. To lead on initiatives, ideas, support our club volunteers and to sustain our current community Clubs.

Working with people aged 50+, their families, connections within the community such as sheltered housing complexes, schools, community centres, other charities and professionals to ensure there are varied activities for existing and

new client groups. We offer a wide range of clubs to meet a variety of needs from social to physical and creative needs.
This exciting role is part of our Health and Community Support team that currently run and support 25+ Community Clubs across Norwich. The post holder will be accountable to the Health and Community Support Manager and Lead.

Trustee - help guide our work

We are looking for trustees to join the Age UK Norwich board to help us shape the charity and make Norwich a great place to grow old. We are evolving to meet the needs of an aging population and ensuring Norwich is an age-friendly city and our trustees are a key part of driving this agenda forward, working with the Chief Executive.
