Monday

Best Foot Forward Walk - Woodthorpe Grange Park Walk (Meet at Sherwood Community Centre, Mansfield Road) 
The Grange is a 19th century Grade II listed manor which sits amidst a mix of landscapes, including formal gardens. There is also an innovative train sculpture and ‘sunken garden’ with water feature. Grade: Moderate. Walk length: 1.5 - 2 miles. Duration: 45 minutes. Terrain: Varied inclines and some steep steps.

1.15pm  Best Foot Forward Walk - Bestwood Walk (Meet at Southglade Access Centre, Southglade Road)  A walk offering a variety of routes around the Bestwood area. All the walks are in the Green Flag areas of Bestwood including some in Southglade Park. Grade: Easy to moderate. Walk length: 1 and 3 miles Duration: 40-90 minutes. Terrain: Fairly flat.  Free. Best Foot Forward - Nuthall Railway Walk (Meet at Snapewood Community Centre, Snape Wood Road) 
Part of the old Great Northern Line, this is a new footpath which passes fields of barley, rape seed and corn. Stop halfway for a coffee at Three Ponds Pub at Nuthall. Grade: Easy to moderate Walk length: 3 miles Duration: 2 hours (with a halfway stop). Terrain: Fairly flat (may include a walk across fields or woods if it is dry, for those who wish to).

Nottinghamshire Disabled People's Movement Meeting @ Voluntary Action Centre, 7 Mansfield Road 
For disabled people in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Campaigns on local and national issues to stop discrimination and improve services and rights for disabled people. Is not a service provider but will provide information and support where possible. Current priorities include access issues, accessible transport, cuts to services both nationally and locally and charges for services to disabled people. All disabled people are welcome.  
£12 annual membership if waged, £6 if unwaged/low income. Non-disabled people can join as Associate Members.

For people aged 50 and over who are single, divorced, separated or widowed in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. A social club to encourage people to improve their social life and make new friends. Best Foot Forward - Strelley Woodland and Countryside Walk 
Meet at Broad Oak Pub, Strelley Village Taking in the stones of Monks Way, Strelley Hall and All Saints Church. A path through Oldmoor Wood takes us into open fields, before continuing up Catstone Hill to the underground reservoir. Grade: Moderate to hard. Walk length: 4 miles. Duration: 90 minutes. Terrain: Varied – open fields and hilly at times.

Best Foot Forward - City Parks Walk (Meet at Victoria Leisure Centre) 
A walk along the boundaries of Sneinton & St Ann’s passing through Victoria Park conservation area, King Edward Park, Stonebridge city farm and may include Green’s Windmill (depending on the walkers’ ability). Grade: Moderate to Hard. Walk length: 2 miles. Duration: 45 - 90 minutes Terrain: Varied (steep hill to Green’s Windmill).

African-Caribbean retired people, based in the Meadows primarily, but everyone welcome. Afro-Caribbean club, exercise, lunch and craft activities for retired people. The group has exercise in the morning, then lunch and, finances permitting, will do crafts in the afternoon.  
£4.35 for lunch and £1 for a savings club (for birthday card for each member or a bouquet of flowers for those we are sick and day trips).

Best Foot Forward - Wollaton Park (Meet at Bench at the far end of first car park, Wollaton Park) 
A number of pleasant walking routes in Wollaton Park, with its 16th Century Hall, lake and deer park. Grade: Moderate (walk is mainly off paths). Walk length: 1.5 and 3 miles. Duration: 60 minutes. Terrain: Often off footpaths so uneven ground and some inclines.

Best Foot Forward - Victoria Embankment Walk (Meet on the corner of London Rd (A60) and Victoria Embankment (city side of river Trent just before Trent Bridge)) 
This is a steady walk along the beautiful tree-lined embankment; we may include a visit to the Memorial Gardens or Wilford Village. Those wishing to do a shorter walk (20 minutes) can leave the walk when we reach the tram line at Wilford Bridge and catch the tram from the Meadows Embankment stop. Grade: Easy to moderate. Walk length: 2 and 3 miles. Duration: 60-90 minutes (short walk option 30 minutes). Terrain: Flat.
