Maeflower Dance, a Shropshire-based amateur ballet group, staged a series of magical performances in support of Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, to raise funds to help local older people.

The group’s latest venture, Moonbeam Magic, delivered a series of performances of ‘beautiful ballet, dazzling dance and colourful costumes’, throughout February, March and April at the Meole Brace Peace Memorial Hall.

The dancers have raised over £770 for Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin. The money raised will go towards helping older people across Shropshire that struggle with feelings of loneliness and isolation.

Speaking on behalf of Maeflower Dance, Philippa Price, said: “A big thank you to our fantastic and most generous audiences, and to all our helpers and supporters behind scenes. We really enjoyed making, rehearsing, and performing Moonbeam Magic and we’re thrilled that it was such a success! It has been a privilege to bring entertainment and art to Shrewsbury audiences, and to be able to help Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, a vital local charity.”

Philippa and the other dancers are now in the initial stages of planning their next production.
