Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin is holding a grand opening event on Tuesday 4 April 2017 from 10.00am-12.00pm at their new charity furniture shop in Oswestry.
The shop on Smithfield Street is Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin’s third charity shop in the county. It is an exciting new venture for us as a local charity, which aims to serve the town’s community with high quality second-hand furniture, while at the same time raising vital funds to support local older people across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.
To celebrate the opening of our latest shop in Oswestry, the town Mayor, Councillor Paul Milner, will be coming to cut the ribbon at the shop at 11.00am. Refreshments will be served to guests and anyone who wants to come along and join the celebrations will be more than welcome. It will also provide a chance to find out more about the work of the charity.
Heather Osborne, Chief Executive of Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, said, ‘We are delighted to have opened our furniture shop in Oswestry and it is proving to be very popular with people. We would love people to come along and help us to celebrate the official opening; you can also see what a great range of quality second hand furniture we have to offer as well.’
Due to popular demand, the shop will now also be open every Monday (excluding bank holidays). The shop is open six days a week: Monday to Saturday, 9.30am-4.30pm.
If you would like to donate furniture or to volunteer in the new shop, please get in touch on 01691 238 020.
