Age UK Solihull has had the pleasure of working with many educational institutes over the years with regards to fundraising.
We want to encourage young people to understand the challenges that older people face and to think about how older people should be valued.
We have worked with many educational institutes over the years. These partnerships are a testament to the work we do and the importance of services we provide.
Slip into Slippers
Buckinghamshire New University media students filmed a video for us in 2012 about our services we provide and what we do as a charity. They compiled a fantastic video which we have featured our homepage.
Grace Academy picked us as their charity of the year for 2013-14, taking part in dress down days to Football World Cup themed events. They helped to raise £1,500 during the year.
The University of Warwick and Greswold Primary School helped fundraise for Age UK Solihull for Bobble Day in 2013, an annual event that all Age UK charities across the UK part-take in. They helped raise a substantial amount during this one-day event and helped raise awareness about our charity to the younger generation.
Greswold Primary School also fundraised for us during Bobble Day 2014 raising a wonderful £243!
Balsall Common Primary School and Coppice Junior School both took part in our first 'Slip into Slippers' event in October 2014 and helped to raise over £600 for Age UK Solihull.
Meriden C of E Primary School, St Peter's R.C Secondary School, Lode Heath School and The Sixth Form College, Solihull pupils have been involved in many of our bag packing events in Asda, Tesco and Waitrose. These bag packing events take place a few times a year and is a great way for younger people to connect and meet with local older people. We have managed to successfully raise a great sum for Age UK Solihull and will continue with these events in and around Solihull.
