Changes to the pension-age concessionary travel pass

Published on 22 January 2020 11:58 AM

Do you know someone who travels on Metrolink or by rail using a pension-age concessionary travel pass from Transport for Greater Manchester?

There is an important change coming from 1 February 2020. Off-peak bus travel will still be free but, to continue using rail and Metrolink, customers will need to add tram and train to their pass for an annual charge of £10. This will give them access to unlimited off-peak travel in Greater Manchester. Disabled concessionary passes are not affected.

Add tram and train is now available to buy at any Travelshop or online at getmethere.com – once added and validated, their pass will be valid for travel and ready to use from 1 February.
