The Mayor of Elmbridge opens Age UK Surrey’s new charity store in East Molesey.

The Mayor of Elmbridge, Councillor Steve Bax, cut the ribbon and officially opened the shop at 9.30 am on Thursday, 11th December 2025.  The store is wonderfully located in the middle of a bustling high street, next to Tesco, with ample parking nearby.

This exciting development represents yet another step forward in the charity’s mission to raise funds to deliver vital services and activities for older people in the community. The store will offer a selection of quality pre-loved items, creating a unique shopping experience while generating a vital revenue stream to support the charity’s work.

“We are thrilled to have this fantastic opportunity to open our new charity shop in East Molesey.  As an independent charity based in Surrey, we need to raise local funds to provide vital services and activities for older people. ‘Repurpose, recycle and re-gift’ are important messages, as are ‘shop, donate and volunteer’.  We hope the local community will enjoy the shop and support our work," said Catherine Hodgson, Chief Executive of Age UK Surrey.

The charity shop will be open Monday to Saturday, 9.30am – 5.00pm and Sunday 11.00am – 4.00pm.  Good quality ladies' and men's clothing, books and bric-a-brac can also be donated during these times.

Along with the new East Molesey shop, Age UK Surrey also has charity shops in Haslemere and Lingfield.
