Race Night Success

Published on 30 October 2025 09:45 AM

On Friday, 24th of October, Age UK Surrey hosted its first-ever Race Night. Racegoers gathered at the Clockhouse Community Centre in Milford to place their bets and cheer on their horses, jockeys and trainers while watching virtual races on the big screen. With cheering and whooping filling the room, there was a real sense of being at the racetrack, which was spectacularly brought to life when the master of ceremonies, Tel, changed into full jockey gear for the last races! 9 races took place throughout the evening, with the winners of the last race donating their winnings to the charity in a very generous show of support for Age UK Surrey.

We are so grateful to all those who attended the event, helping us to raise £1,562.20. Funds raised mean we can continue to deliver our vital services in Surrey that support local people to live well and make the most of life.

Together for a better later life in Surrey.
