Many of us wish to make a lasting difference. By choosing to leave a gift in your Will to Age UK Surrey, you are leaving behind a legacy of kindness.

You can be certain that your legacy will bring comfort, support and friendship to some of the most vulnerable older people when they need it most.

The difference a gift in your Will could make:

  • Information and Advice

Last year 2,530 clients made use of our I&A service.  We helped clients claim £1.7m of additional benefits.

YOUR GIFT could help us deliver more.

  • Telephone Befriending

Last year 200 clients were supported in our Check-in and Chat telephone befriending Service.

YOUR GIFT could help us fight loneliness.

A gift in YOUR Will could help a man like Jim transform his later life.

Age UK Surrey gives men like Jim a place to belong, to feel included, and valued in later life. When despair was threatening, Jim took action by joining a Men in Shed’s session and never looked back.

“I finished work when I was 74 and then I sat at home, bored and didn’t know what to do.  I said to my partner, who was working, that I felt as if I was buried alive!”

“It was the best thing I’ve done.  I came here, and I’ve met some blokes, and we’ve been out on some outings.  I enjoy coming here, it breaks the week up and I learn quite a bit.”

With YOUR legacy of kindness, older adults like Sandra are able to rebuild confidence and friendships in the community.

“When you don’t work, you lose your friends because there’s nowhere to make friends, but now I have a Clockhouse full of friends, both volunteers and clients.  It has suddenly opened everything for me, and I’ve become the person I was when I was working.

At the Clockhouse, we get a warm welcome, and we get the feeling we can relax when we walk through the door.  There’s a sense of belonging which is important.  People need to know that instead of sitting alone on their own at home, they can come here, take part in the activities, and just enjoy a bit of time being sociable and not being insular, those are the things that are really important. I’d be lost without it - I just don’t know what I’d do!”
