Age UK Bradford District Gears Up for Big Knit “Knit-athon” at their Wrose Hub – Join the Fun on Wednesday 11th June!

Age UK Bradford District is calling all crafters, knitters, and community champions to join them for an exciting Big Knit Knit-athon taking place on Wednesday 11th June, from 9:30am to 4:00pm at the Wrose Hub (75 Wrose Road, Shipley, BD18 1HX).

This all-day event is part of the national Big Knit campaign, where each little woolly hat made helps raise 30p for Age UK Bradford District. With an ambitious target of 10,000 hats, this Knit-athon is a chance to come together, knit in good company, and make a real difference for local older people.

Mark Rounding, CEO of Age UK Bradford District, said: “The Knit-athon aims to be a unique and fun community event, bringing people of all ages and backgrounds together for a great cause. Every hat made helps support our work with older people in the Bradford District - reducing loneliness, improving wellbeing, and creating vital community connections through Information, Help & Support, Advice & Casework, Activities and Groups.

Whether you're a seasoned knitter or a total beginner, everyone is welcome to take part. We'll have supplies, patterns, tea, and plenty of encouragement on hand. Pop in for an hour or stay for the whole day - every hat counts!”
