Age UK Bradford District is calling on local businesses to get involved and support older people in our community by partnering with the charity through fundraising, team events, and awareness-raising initiatives.
Businesses of all sizes across Bradford District have already shown incredible support, using team spirit and community commitment to make a difference. From running shoes to fundraising challenges, companies are helping ensure older people don’t face later life alone.
Last year, Barwick Bathrooms entered a dynamic team, affectionately named the Barwick Bullets, into the Leeds Abbey Dash 10K in support of Age UK Bradford District. Team members Jack Molloy, Liam Molloy, and Tracey Barraclough raised an impressive £1,080. “Taking part in the event as a team was so much fun,” they said. “It was a brilliant way to support a cause we care about while doing something active and rewarding together.”
LCF Law has supported Age UK Bradford District for several years by entering a team into the Abbey Dash. Jennifer Lee, Associate Solicitor in LCF Law's Personal Law team and former trustee at Age UK Bradford District, who organises the firm’s running team, said:
“Every year we take part in the race to support this fantastic charity. The atmosphere is always electric and running through Leeds city centre alongside thousands of others - all united by a shared goal of backing the charity and its incredible work - is a truly moving experience.
We’d highly recommend it to any corporate team looking to connect outside the office, boost wellbeing and make a real difference to older people in our community.”
Age UK Bradford District supports thousands of older people every year, offering Information, Help & Support, Advice & Casework, Activities and Groups. Corporate fundraising makes a direct impact on what the charity can deliver, and offers fantastic opportunities for team building, staff wellbeing, and community visibility.
Whether it’s through sponsored events, team volunteering, payroll giving, or charity-of-the-year partnerships, there are so many ways businesses can get involved.
