Age UK’s Silver Sunday is a national day in October celebrating older people. Our ambition is to make it part of the national conscience, like Mothering Sunday and Father’s Day.

It’s one of the biggest celebrations of older people in the UK, and every year hundreds of Age UK Silver Sunday events are organised by generous local groups, businesses and volunteers and reach tens of thousands of older people UK-wide.

Our Events

Age UK Bradford District has planned special events at each of their 6 Community Hubs in the build up to Silver Sunday including coffee mornings, games, and quizzes. It's also an opportunity to access information about the vital work they do and find out more about the groups and activities on offer.

The timetable of events is as follows:

Wednesday 1st October

Where: Wrose and Queensbury Hubs
When: 10am - 12pm
What: coffee and cakes with a nostalgia quiz and jigsaws/games

Thursday 2nd October

Where: Shipley and Idle Hubs
When: 10am - 12pm
What: Coffee Morning with cakes

Friday 3rd October

Where: Keighley Hub

Your Events

We ask groups to put on fun and free (or low-cost) activities where older people can make new friends, try new things and connect with other generations in their local communities. Activities are diverse, offering everything from museum tours and nature walks to taster classes and tea parties.
