Kay Libby joins Mark Baker as Co-Chief Executive for Age UK Bristol

Published on 10 July 2019 11:03 AM

Age UK Bristol is very pleased to announce that after 8 years as Chief Executive, Mark Baker is now job-sharing Co-Chief Executive with Kay Libby.  Mark Baker has moved to half-time and Kay Libby has been appointed as Co-Chief Executive as of 1st July 2019.

Mark approached the Board of Trustees with a request to go half time leading up to an eventual retirement. As an organisation supporting older people and advocating planned easing into retirement, the Board welcomed the request, which was considered and subsequently approved in line with our flexible working policy.

We are pleased to announce that, following interview, Kay Libby has been appointed as Co-Chief Executive. Kay has been working with Age UK Bristol since October 2017 as Services Director where she led a Services Review of Age UK Bristol. Kay has been instrumental in streamlining our services and building on our strengths. Kay will continue with her half time role of Bristol Ageing Better Legacy and Sustainability Lead. Kay’s experience and knowledge of the sector will bring so much to the organisation and we are very happy to have her on board for the next phase of Age UK Bristol.

Age UK Bristol is committed to being age-friendly not only in our work in Bristol communities, but also within our own organisation. We are happy to support Mark in his wish to go half time and enjoy a better work-life balance. The combined knowledge and experience of Mark Baker and Kay Libby is an asset to Age UK Bristol, our staff and our clients.

Congratulations to both Kay and Mark on this opportunity. We look forward to the next phase of Age UK Bristol and our work.
