Age UK Bromley & Greenwich is the leading service provider for people 50 years + across both boroughs. We promote Bromley’s and Greenwich’s older people’s wellbeing. We help make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience.

WHAT IS OUR MEN & WOMEN IN SHEDS PROGRAMME

Eltham and Penge Sheds are an innovative, award winning, activity-based package for Bromley and Greenwich residents 50 years +. Our sheds provide our members with opportunities to:

- Improve their health outcomes including mental and physical
health.
- Reduce social isolation and loneliness.
- Enhance their skills and abilities.

We have 2 sheds, one in Eltham and one in Penge. Each offers a friendly and stimulating environment with different choices of activities. These include:

Woodwork, Carpentry, Gardening, Repairs & Restoration, Community Projects, Commissions, Wood Turning, Wood & Metal Upcycling & Recycling, Metal Work, and Volunteering Opportunities.

Our skilled and caring Volunteers and Shed Coordinators provide support and guidance. They oversee all aspects of the sheds.

WHO THE SHEDS ARE FOR

Bromley and Greenwich residents who is 50 years + who would like to get out and socialise a bit more with like-minded people, work on individual and group projects, share or learn skills, help, and be involved in the community.

ACCESS

We are unable to provide transport to our sheds. Our Eltham Shed is accessible. Our Penge Shed has steps. If you have additional needs, please let us know. We want to make sure our sheds are the best fit for you. We carry out thorough inductions with all our new members to make sure you are confident to use handheld and power tools safely.
